  • Yair Shamir, Founder & Chairman Emeritus 
    Yair Shamir is the Minister of Agriculture in the current Government of Israel. Formerly he has been Managing Partner Chairman and Managing Partner of Catalyst Fund, and Chairman of IAI, Israeli Aerospace Industries. From 2005-2007, Mr. Shamir was Chairman of Shamir Optical Industry Ltd (NASDAQ: SHMR), From 2004-2005, Mr. Shamir served as Chairman of El Al, Israeli Airlines and lead the privatization process of the firm. From 1997- 2004, Mr. Shamir served as CEO of VCON Telecommunications Ltd. and from 2004 to date, serves as the chairman of the firm. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Shamir served as executive vice president of the Challenge Fund-Etgar L.P. From 1994 to 1995, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Elite Food Industries, Ltd. From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Shamir served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Scitex Corporation, Ltd. Mr. Shamir served in the Israeli Air Force as a pilot and commander from 1963 to 1988. During his term in the Air Force, Mr. Shamir attained the rank of colonel and served as head of the electronics department, the highest professional electronics position within the Air Force. He currently serves as a director of DSP Group Corporation (NASDAQ: DSPG) and also serves as a director of few private hi-tech companies as well as a director on the Board of the Technion. Mr. Shamir holds a B.Sc. Electronics Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.

  • Ze`ev Bielski, Chair of Gvahim`s Board
    Ze`ev Bielski is the Mayor of the city of Ra`anana. An Israeli public leader who served as a member of the Knesset for Kadima between 2009 and 2013, he previously chaired the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization, as well as working as a Jewish Agency emissary in South Africa, a player in the Israeli national basketball league and a founder of the Israel Forum.
    Ze`ev Bielski is Gvahim`s Chairman since April 2013. 

  • Itsik Turgeman, Director General of the Rashi Foundation   
    Itzik joined the Rashi Foundation in 2008 after a long and acclaimed career in the Israel Defense Forces, where he founded and directed the Atidim Program that identifies high-potential students from the periphery and accompanies them through academic studies. As an electronic engineer, he previously served in various poitions in the R&D Unit of the Intelligence Corps. Itzik received the Israel Security Award in 1988 and the IDF Intelligence Prize for Creative Thinking in 1999; in 2003 he was awarded an honorary fellowship from the Technion. Itzik serves as Director General of Rashi from October 2012.

  • Elie Ayalon
    Elie AyalonElie Ayalon initiated the Gvahim Project together with Rashi Foundation`s General Director, Elie Elalouf in 2006. Mr Ayalon joined DSPG in April 2006 as President, Chief Executive Officer and director of DSPG. In January 2000, he was appointed to serve as Chairman of our board. Mr. Ayalon is also a member of the board of directors of CEVA, Inc., a developer and licensor of DSP cores and related platform-level IP to the semiconductor industry, as of November 2002, and was the Chairman until February 2005. Mr. Ayalon previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mennen from May 1992 to April 1996. Mr. Ayalon is a member of the Board of Governors of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and a member of the executive committee of the University Center of Ariel, Israel.

  • Tania Amar
    Tania Amar grew up in Paris, France. She earned her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Paris-Dauphine. She was the Director of Communications for the Global Nuclear Energy Group AREVA (formerly known as COGEMA) for 7 years in France. In 1997 Tania moved to Israel with her family and started working for Comverse in 1998 as the Director of Global Public Relations. Since 2003 she serves as the Director of Corporate Marketing at NICE Systems. Tania has been involved in the Gvahim project since its creation in 2006 as a personal coach for Olim and has recently started leading Gvahim`s Technology and Industry Network.


  • Liran Amir

    Liran Amir grew up in the United States and made Aliyah to Israel with his family in 2009. He currently serves as the Director of Corporate Development at Xsight Systems, Ltd. an Israeli company specializing in electro-optical and radar sensing technology.  Prior to Xsight Systems, Mr. Amir has served in various roles within AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and Midwest Airlines in the areas of corporate & business development, finance and marketing strategy. In addition, he has an extensive consulting background and served as a senior international tax consultant and auditor in Ernst & Young and PwC LLP. Mr. Amir is a US Certified Public Account and earned his BBA in Accounting and Information Systems and MBA in
    Finance and Management from the University of Wisconsin.

  • Nelly Assouline
    Nelly is a graduate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (Chicago) & Tel Aviv University with an International Executive MBA; Dauphine University & ENSAE Paris (National School of Statistics) where she 
    Post-graduated in Mathematics (DEA de Mathmatiques Appliques). She has been a Lecturer in macroeconomics and capital markets at Dauphine University and ESCT. Nelly focused her professional carrier on financial markets, particularly within DEXIA Group. In 2001, attracted by the professional and personal challenges, she joined and developed the Israeli subsidiary of Dexia, acquired in 2001, being Deputy General Manager, CFO and Dexia`s Representative. Since September 2010, Nelly is a Senior Banker at BNP-Paribas. She is also Board Member in BOS, an Israeli company listed in NASDAQ.

  • Keren Chehanovich
    Keren graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Social & Economic Sciences. She has a vast experience in accompanying & consulting to senior managers in their career development process, an expertise that she perfected while running Emda Talent - an executive search firm providing recruitment consultancy and services for Israeli and international organizations.


  • Edouard Cukierman
    Mr. Edouard Cukierman is the Founder and Managing Partner of Catalyst Funds and serves as Chairman of Cukierman & Co Investment House. Prior to managing Catalyst Fund in 2000, he was the President and CEO of the Astra Technological Investments, a Venture Capital Fund established in 1993, which was the first Israeli company to go public in Continental Europe.
    He is also the Founder of the Go4Europe annual conference.
    Today, Edouard Cukierman serves as Chairman of BOS (NASDAQ: BOSC).
    He is a board member of Lamina Technologies which is based in Switzerland, Dorimedia Group as well as Harmon.ie in Israel. Edouard Cukierman is the Chairman of the European Committee of the "High-Tech Industry Association" in Israel since May 2011.
    Mr. Cukierman serves as the Vice President of the Fondation France Israël. He is a board member of "Alliance Israelite Universelle en Israel" and a board member of Sar-El (Association that brings volunteers from across the world to the IDF in Israel). He now serves as a Reserve officer in the Crisis & Hostage Negotiation Team and in the Spokesman Unit of the IDF. He is the co-writter with Dr. Daniel Rouach of the book “Israel Valley Le bouclier technologique de l’innovation” published in June 2013 by Edition Pearson in Paris.
    Mr. Cukierman holds an MBA from INSEAD, France and a B.Sc. from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

  • Eran Goren
    Eran is a Managing Partner at Fidelis, a Multi Family Office. Prior to co-founding Fidelis, Eran was Head of Investments at Ellomay Capital Ltd., a US-listed Investment Company with $100M of capital base. Before joining Ellomay, he was the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Capstone Finance, a structured finance boutique. Prior to founding Capstone, Eran was the CEO of Excellence Nessuah Ltd., one of Israel’s largest and most successful investment houses. The group was created by the merger of Nessuah Zannex, a company Eran founded and managed for eight years, and Excellence, a leading capital markets group. Eran is a Major (retired) in the Israeli Air Force Special Forces. He is married with four children and lives in Ramat Hasharon, Israel.

  • Elisabeth Kogan
    Elisabeth KoganElisabeth Kogan is a graduate from Ecole Centrale Paris, specialized in chemical engineering. After working for Sanofi Aventis Paris in process development, she moved to Israel in 1996 to join the Israeli Pharmaceutical company Teva. In 2002, she became VP of Global Sales and Marketing for the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) Division. Elisabeth is now VP of Teva Global Generic R&D. She participated in the Gvahim Project since its creation in 2006. 

  • Martin Lowenstein
    From 2010 to 2013, Martin was President of the Board of the Jerusalem American International School and currently serves as its Treasurer.  In 1992, he received his MBA from Georgetwon University.  Since then, he has managed a family investment office, and, in 1997, he founded a private equity and real estate partnership.  Martin has raised millions of dollars for private schools and Jewish organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Martin made aliyah from San Francisco in 2009 and lives with his wife and their three children in Lachish.

  • Moshe Mor
    Moshe Mor was a Founding Partner of Greylock Israel and is currently a Venture Partner with the firm. Prior to moving back to Israel in 2006, Moshe was a Partner at the California office of Greylock Partners. Greylock (www.greylock.com ), which was founded in 1965, is one of the world’s premier venture capital firms. 

    Previously, Moshe spent eight years at SPL WorldGroup, a leading international provider of enterprise software and services. He was a member of SPL`s founding team and from 1995 he led it as its CEO through rapid expansion to reach 1,000 employees and $150 million in worldwide revenue. SPL WorldGroup was acquired by Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) in 2003. Prior to SPL WorldGroup, Moshe held management positions in software companies in diverse stages, from start-ups to large established players. He also served six years in the Israeli Army as a Captain in the Military Intelligence branch.
    Moshe holds a BS degree in Economics from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.

  • Ronit Segelman
    Ronit is the VP-Partnerships of the Rashi Foundation. She has a degree in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After valuable stints as a teacher for Bedouin children, and product developer and sales manager for various companies, she became the Jewish Agency`s Community and Aliyah Emissary in Denver. On her return to Israel, she served as the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado`s first Israel representative, and played a key role in designing then implementing the new concept of a “tailor-made” partnership with the Ramat Negev Regional Council. Ronit opened an office in Israel for the Merage Foundation, and was director for five years until she joined the Rashi Foundation in 2006. She is currently a MA student of Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University.

  • Joel Weill
    Joel Weill
    Joel Weill is the chairman and CEO of M&S – Management and Sustainability Ltd., a leading company specialized in sustainable energy, risk management and corporate social responsibility. M&S provides consulting to major Israeli public and private organizations, and develops in several countries, including France and China, the business of 9 Israeli suppliers of advanced and proven solutions for energy saving, renewable energy and green building. Joel Weill, formerly VP of Ormat Systems, holds several public positions, including Chairman of the Energy and Environment Commission in the Israeli National Committee of ICC (Israeli Chamber of Commerce).



  • Avi Zana
    Avi was born in Tunisia, raised in France and  made his alya in 1978. He holds a Master from the Institute of Contemporary Jewry and a Bachelor degree in Jewish History and Oriental Studies from the Hebrew University of  Jerusalem.
    Since 1985, Avi has worksd to help the absorption of French immigrants in Israel: general director of UNIFAN  untill 1990; emmissary of the jewish agency in Paris 1990-1994; head of the french desk of the jewish agency in Jerusalem in 1994- 2005 and finally the first general director  of AMI  Foundation for the last fourth years. AMI is a partner of the GVAHIM project from its creation in 2006. 

  • Zehorit Peretz
    Zehorit studied accounting at the Ramat Gan College and apprenticed at Kesselman & Kesselman (now PwC Israel), one of the largest accounting firms in Israel. As a certified accountant, Zehorit worked at Menen Medical and at the outsourcing division of Taldor before joining Rashi in 2005. She served as deputy director of the finance department for three years until being chosen to head it in early 2013.

  • Alain Zeitoun
    Alain Zeitoun studied Medicine (Paris Medical School) and Business Administration (ESCP-Europe Business School, Paris). After an MD and a pharma career in France, he joined in 1998 the new Israeli subsidiary of Merck & Co Pharma Company and became its Israel Marketing & Sales Director as well as European Marketing Coordinator based in Israel. Since 2010, Alain is the CEO of an Israeli Start Up in the Biotech field. He has been co-organizer, designer and animator of the Gvahim Project since its creation in 2006 and has been personally coaching several new immigrants` professional integration. Alain is member of Gvahim Board, as well as the General Secretary of the Association of Alumni from French High Education in Israel (AAEGE Israel). Alain is also an active member of the Israel-France Think Tank called “Collectif Franco-Israelien – Forum Israel-France”.

  • Daphna Zevadi
    Daphna Zevadi serves as an independent business consultant for executives in the hi-tech industry. Prior to that, she managed a department of executive recruitment at Gisha Shona. In 1997, Daphna became a dealer account manager for HP in Israel. She has lived in Paris and Brussels for 10 years, where she served as a research assistant at INSEAD, FONTAINEBLEAU, and a marketing consultant at a Swedish consulting firm in Paris. Daphna holds an MBA degree from Solvay Business School in Brussels.
